After the destruction of the Twin Towers, the world changed forever in ways no one understood at the time. Amid the smoke, fire, and collapse, millions of ultra-classified nanites—part of a black-budget defense program in Manhattan—were released into the atmosphere. Invisible. Untraceable. Uncontainable. They rewrote human DNA at random.  Across the world, ordinary people began to change—developing impossible abilities that defied biology and physics. The media called them Prometheans. Some became heroes. Others became monsters. Most were simply trying to survive in a world suddenly terrified of what they represented.  In New York City, a small group of young Prometheans chooses to stand together. Calling themselves The Archangels, they fight not only criminals and rogue superhumans, but the fear, surveillance, and government control that follows them everywhere they go.  But the greatest threat does not come from the authorities—or even from public panic. It comes from one Promethean who believes humanity’s time has passed. That the age of man is over. And the Age of the Prometheans has begun.  As the world teeters between control and collapse, the Archangels must decide what kind of future they’re willing to fight for—and whether heroism can survive in a world that no longer trusts unchecked power.
